The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is designed to support the independence and social and economic participation of people with disability.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is designed to support the independence and social and economic participation of people with disability. Its aim is to enable people with a disability to exercise choice and control in the pursuit of their goals and the planning and delivery of their supports. The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to increase their independence, develop new skills & engage with their community. The NDIS will fund reasonable and necessary support for participants, including;

  • Assistance with daily life
  • Transport
  • Consumables
  • Assistance with social, economic and community participation
  • Assistive technology
  • Home modifications and specialised disability accommodation
  • Improved living arrangements, relationships, health and wellbeing
  • Increased social and community participation
  • Finding and keeping a job
  • Improved learning, life choices and daily living skills
