What better way to celebrate NAIDOC week than with a good, old-fashioned Aussie sausage sizzle in the sunshine with friends?

Before putting on the BBQ, our Joblink participants spent time researching the significance of NAIDOC Week, learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and listening to an Aboriginal song.

The participants then worked in groups to create colourful posters and craft projects to promote NAIDOC Week and the upcoming sausage sizzle around the Supported Employment Enterprises.

By hosting the event, the Joblink participants worked on their organisational, cooking and co-operation skills while improving their communication and self-confidence at the same time.

Joblink did such a great job that everyone working at Ralph Black Drive has their fingers crossed that it becomes a yearly event.
