Monday morning tea was extra special at the Illawarra Diggers Aged and Community Care in Corrimal on Monday with staff and residents delighted to see our Greenacres Community Connect volunteers presented with their certificates from the WEA.
For almost 12 months Goktug Yasar, Jefri Radam Pundavela, Kristy Salvador and Amy Jones have been volunteering at the facility learning numeracy, literacy and work-based skills while bringing joy and friendship to the residents at the same time.
Special thanks to WEA Trainer/Assessor, Colin McKenzie and Greenacres Support Worker, Leonie Way who have supported our volunteers to achieve this result.
The volunteers will soon be adding a ‘Certificate 1 Access to Vocational Pathways’ to their resumes.
